Painter and lecturer of Vilnius Academy of Arts I. Skauronė together with two students took part in the international project “Signs of Identity / Signs of Diversity”. It was carried out by the Art Academy of Latvia in cooperation with the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO and took place in Riga, Latvia from 23rd to 27th of November 2009. The aim of the project was to promote the understanding of the meaning of cultural diversity exploring artistic communication and intercultural dialogue among artists from Caucasus countries, Baltic countries and France.

The creative workshop of artists encouraged the understanding of different aspects of cultural diversity by working on the different signs of identity and using a common artistic technique - mosaics. The creative workshop was accomplished by an exhibition of the mosaics created during the project workshop and opened on 28th of November 2009 at the Art Academy of Latvia, Riga.
